I am a Data Science researcher at the University of Salford, UK and a DevOps engineer specialising in cloud-native infrastructure and security. My work sits at the intersection of research and engineering — applying machine learning to solve real-world problems in healthcare, education, and cybersecurity, while building the production-grade infrastructure to deploy and operate those systems reliably.
On the engineering side, I designed and built a fully automated DevSecOps pipeline on AWS: 6 EKS clusters across 3 environments and 2 regions, managed entirely through GitOps with ArgoCD, secured with Kyverno admission policies, Falco runtime detection, and cryptographic image signing via Cosign. The system is live at matthewoladipupo.dev.
On the research side, I have published 16 works spanning medical AI (Alzheimer's classification, COVID-19 diagnosis), computer vision, network security (DDoS detection), and emerging applications of AI in education and healthcare. I review for Elsevier, Springer Nature, and IGI Global.
I hold a Salford International Excellence Award scholarship and am a member of IEEE, ACM, and four other professional engineering bodies.

6 EKS clusters across 3 environments and 2 AWS regions. ArgoCD hub-spoke GitOps. GitHub Actions CI with OIDC. Cosign image signing, Kyverno admission policies, Falco runtime security, Prometheus + Grafana observability, Karpenter autoscaling, Velero DR. Documented in a 10-part series.
Automated provisioning of a full 3-environment AWS setup (Dev, Staging, Production) using Terraform — networking, compute, and database resources, fully codified.
Scalable, highly available web server infrastructure on AWS provisioned with Terraform — VPCs, EC2 Auto Scaling, and a Classic Load Balancer.
CNN-based classifier using infrared facial images from the SOBER DRUNK DATABASE (University of Patras) to detect intoxication — a computer vision application to road safety.
